What this website collects
This website is a static catalogue. It has no user accounts, no shopping basket and no payment system. We do not run advertising or analytics scripts and we do not set tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from our own site, not from third-party font services.
The only personal data we receive through the site is what you choose to send us when you get in touch:
- Enquiries by e-mail or WhatsApp. Your name, your e-mail address or phone number, and the content of your message, including any photographs, drawings or measurements you attach.
- Showroom appointments. The name, contact details and preferred date you give us when you ask to visit.
- Quotations and orders. If an enquiry turns into a commission, we also process the information needed to prepare a quotation, produce the piece and deliver it: delivery address, invoicing details and, for export orders, the documents required by customs.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time of the request, pages requested, browser type) for the purpose of keeping the site secure and available. These logs are not combined with any other data and are deleted on a rolling basis.
Why we process your data and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and advise you on pieces, finishes and dimensions. Legal basis: the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (KVKK Art. 5/2-c; GDPR Art. 6/1-b).
- To prepare quotations, produce, deliver and install commissioned pieces and to provide after-sales service. Legal basis: performance of a contract (KVKK Art. 5/2-c; GDPR Art. 6/1-b).
- To issue invoices and keep the commercial and tax records that the law requires us to keep. Legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation (KVKK Art. 5/2-a and 5/2-ç; GDPR Art. 6/1-c).
- To keep the website secure and to detect misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a safe website (KVKK Art. 5/2-f; GDPR Art. 6/1-f).
We do not use your data for profiling or automated decision-making, and we do not send marketing messages unless you have asked us to keep you informed.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data only where it is necessary for the purposes above:
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., whose servers may be located outside Türkiye. Server logs are processed there.
- Messaging. If you write to us on WhatsApp, your message is transmitted through WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) under its own privacy terms. E-mail is handled by our e-mail provider.
- Delivery and installation. For commissioned pieces we pass your name, delivery address and phone number to the carrier, freight forwarder or installation team handling your order.
- Public authorities. Where the law requires it, for example customs declarations for export orders or requests from courts and tax authorities.
Where data is transferred outside Türkiye, we rely on the safeguards foreseen in Article 9 of the KVKK. We do not sell personal data to anyone.
How long we keep your data
- Enquiries that do not lead to an order: up to two years from our last exchange, so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us.
- Quotations, orders, invoices and delivery records: ten years, as required by Turkish commercial and tax legislation.
- Server logs: a rolling period of a few weeks.
When the retention period ends, the data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised in line with the Regulation on the Deletion, Destruction or Anonymisation of Personal Data.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK, and under Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR where it applies, you have the right to:
- learn whether we process your personal data and, if so, request information about it;
- learn the purpose of the processing and whether the data is used in line with that purpose;
- know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom your data has been transferred;
- request the correction of incomplete or inaccurate data;
- request the deletion or destruction of your data where the conditions in Article 7 of the KVKK are met;
- request that these corrections and deletions are notified to the third parties who received the data;
- object to a result that is to your detriment and arises from analysis by exclusively automated means;
- claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
To exercise these rights, write to us at artlife@artlife1974.com or by post to the showroom address above, in accordance with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller. We will answer free of charge and as soon as possible, and in any case within thirty days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) or, in the EU, with your local supervisory authority.
